Umbrella moth and friend
But you, you foolish girl, you have gone home
To a leaky castle across the sea, -
To lie awake in linen smelling of lavender,
And hear the nightingale, and long for me.
I love this quote by Edna St Vincent Millay.
So I thought I would illustrate it onto a moth....
The next moth is made from an old umbrella.
It had been closed tightly for years and when opened up had beautiful bleached ray marks all over it.
Ive tried to include these in the design.

ReplyDeletegulp .. love the quote
ReplyDeletegulp drool - that umbrella moth is divine - he's like the James Bond of moths ... a bit battered but still most definitely All Moth.
I feel quite flustered ...
Beautiful work! And I love the poem.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your compliments everyone!

¡Oh, oh!...
ReplyDelete¡Genial!
This is amazingly beautiful, Paul... Sarah is right - the James Bond of moths. You are so clever to have used the bleached parts the way you have. Well done - again.
ReplyDeleteThese are both amazing! Love them both! :)
