This is sooooo exquisite! I love the texture you have achieved on the wings against the softness of head and body. And the tail ..... is so perfect. I love this canary bird! x
Our son LOVES birds. During his first year of life, bird songs was the only "white noise" that would put this child to sleep. Now 8, he told me yesterday, that the best part of his entire day at school, was that he saw a falcon flying while at recess. In March, we bought our son his first pet bird. Sadly it died after just 2 weeks in our home. Our second bird also died after just 1 week in our home. Our son has been so broken hearted over these deaths. We were told that the birds were too young, and didn't survive the stress of leaving their first home to arrive at the pet store, then shortly after, leaving again to arrive at our home. We now have two decorated grave sites complete with painted headstones. It's a sad story really, but your image of the yellow bird with the turquoise box reminded me of these two beloved birds. I always admire your work, and the fairytale inspiration that they have. It's all quite beautiful!
