Oonah.......
Here's me with a huge moth I made when I enlarged the pattern....I couldnt resist making one this big I just wanted to see if I could do it. Cant beat the old style overhead projectors for this.
Shes called Oonah and she has a beautiful white fur body and carpet for wings so shes quite heavy!
It was not easy to sew the carpet but like most things I get really obsessed with them and need to get them finished so that its out of my system.
I'm not going to sell her as I'm very attached to her but since the pattern worked out at some point will make some friends for her....when my fingers have healed a little!
Oonah is wonderful -- no wonder she's staying with you.
ReplyDeleteOh! How beautiful is she! perfect size!)

ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see the mister, creator of such wonderful creatures. Hi. It was fun to be able to enlarge this photo and see all of Ooonah's details. She looks just like a loving pet strapped on your arm like that. She's stunning.
ReplyDeletefunny, i pictured you as a spry old man with a white beard and small spectacles. love your sculptures!
ReplyDeletewow, she is stunning!! and I know what you mean about having to get it out of your systam..I have done the same sewing a bird for my daughter with layers of suede and fabric to make the wings...my poor fingers!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to have a fuzzy moth of my very own!
ReplyDeleteI've just discover your work and am in love! Congratulations, you are a true artist! I'll keep visiting!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I would love to have one of this size, is she named for the fairy in Legend?

DeleteHi, nice to have a face for Mr. Finch !
ReplyDeleteYour dedication to you art is inspiring and Oonah was well worth the sore fingers, I'm thinking !
AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH! I do love that moth, but I am also terrified of her x
ReplyDeleteoona is spectaculair . especially the antennae,
ReplyDeletewhere does she stay when you aren't holding her?
does she have her own dias or throne ?
no reason to be afraid of a moth they're vegetarians -preferring leaves to make silk...
