Tea maker.........

A tea making spider...
I made her a while ago and her legs weren't quite right so I took them off and made her longer pink ones....now she seems happier.x

Trying to squeeze in a little personal project when I can.....there is always some sort of play with scale with me and it just seems to fascinate me.....making things bigger or smaller than they should be.
Mostly I have to admit its creating things bigger than they naturally are....like the moths and spiders.......but not today.

From the car boot this weekend I got a broken firescreen that once turned into a table. The embroidery is great but needs a gentle wash and press and will make some really fab wings for moths hopefully. The rest of the wooden pieces......well.... have now become another sort of screen....Ive used fishing line to make a spider web in it. Its going to be really helpful I think with displaying my spiders....
Its a bit tricky to photograph like this.....need to have a play around with it....x

Work in progress......

Ive been enlarging some of my patterns on my good old 'over head projector' and have tinkered about with this older pattern of a sleeping fox.....He still needs his tail sewing on.....this is my favourite size to make.....
working on  a big fat creature on you lap and sewing and working on the face is really rewarding and just seems really fab to do.
This foxy chap is going to get stained and his legs painted black and the hopefully some sort of cloak I think.
Hes going into a capsule collection for a really fab outlet.
Its a bit of a secret at the moment but I'm really quite thrilled.

I only got this tiny embroidered picture a few weeks ago and its has become one of my most favourite things.....It was in a second hand shop for 20p and the glass and frame were filthy.
I knew it had been hand stitched and with a little clean this magical garden came to life.
It has such tiny tiny stitches and its been done with such love.
Its objects like these that hold such stories for me....who made it and how it came to be given away....
It sits on my desk next to my computer a reminder that there is beauty everywhere........sometimes you have to give things a little dust and look harder................and some people have amazing eyesight and patience.
